Position:
Reporting directly to the Scientific Director, the Deputy Chief Scientific Director will be responsible for:
Industrializing cutting-edge technologies validated in the laboratory and bringing them to large-scale production.
Leading R&D projects, particularly to develop new biomaterials and new applications across diverse sectors.
Developing and managing industrial and academic partnerships in France and internationally.
Structuring and growing a small, dynamic team while remaining highly hands-on and autonomous.
Supporting the company’s scale-up and contributing to the definition of R&D and production strategies, with the perspective of progressively evolving into the Chief Scientific Officer role.
Profile :
• Education :
Chemical engineer specialized in organic chemistry, with a PhD in organic synthesis or an equivalent background demonstrating strong adaptability. Studies completed in an English-speaking country are an asset.
• Experience :
At least 8 years in the development of innovative processes, ideally in the fields of green chemistry and biomaterials. In-depth knowledge of the French and international industrial ecosystem (equipment manufacturers, production companies).
• Additional skills:
- Strong foundation in analytical chemistry.
- Broad general knowledge of biochemistry, biology, and biomaterials.
- Understanding of intellectual property and patent issues.
- Ability to manage complex projects and take measured risks.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying and tailoring messages to different audiences.
• Personal qualities :
-An innovator at heart: curious, eclectic, persistent, and able to synthesize multidisciplinary knowledge to create synergies.
- Able to work independently with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- A leader who can motivate and rally a team around an ambitious project.

- While French is not strictly required for the role, the position is based in France and a good command of French is therefore highly recommended.

Location
The position will initially be based in the Toulouse region, with a strong likelihood of international relocation depending on the company’s development.
Position :
Working closely with the Chief Scientific Officer, you will play a central role in the development and refinement of industrial prototypes. This stage will later be followed by the implementation of full-scale production lines.
You will be specifically responsible for the design, fabrication, optimization, and deployment of prototypes to validate innovative processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating technical interactions with suppliers, subcontractors, and industrial partners.
Ensuring the proper operation of pilot installations, their maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Transforming laboratory results into robust industrial solutions adapted to large-scale production.
Proactively proposing ways to simplify and accelerate the transition from laboratory to factory.
Profile :
• Education :
Generalist engineer (Arts & Métiers, ICAM, INSA, Centrale, or equivalent) with a strong scientific and technical foundation.
• Experience :
At least 8 years in a similar role, ideally in industrial or prototyping environments and/or in machinery development, with proven expertise in design, fabrication, and process validation.
• Additional skills :
- Strong background in electromechanics and industrial processes.
- Ability to oversee the fabrication and assembly of prototype equipment.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, CAD tools, and managing technical projects.
- Knowledge of production constraints, industrial safety issues, and intellectual property considerations.
• Personal qualities :
- Pragmatic, autonomous, and solution-oriented.
- Comfortable working hands-on to solve concrete technical challenges.
- Scientifically curious, particularly about green chemistry and environmental issues.
- Ability to engage effectively with both scientific and technical profiles.
